i think there’s an interesting comparison between the $SHIB ecosystem and what solana:Hg5Ja55T5wESq4vyFoiVCMeHXtGyVA69X2UHq8hgpump is building..

different markets, different metas.. but structurally similar ideas with one major difference.

SHIB emerged during the DOGE meta and expanded into an entire ecosystem with ShibaSwap, Shibarium, BONE, LEASH etc..

the ecosystem grew beyond SHIB itself, but much of its utility became fragmented across different tokens.

BATON is taking a different approach..

as the first meme building an ecosystem around pumpfun’s custom pairs, BATON itself serves as the common liquidity asset for other memes.

instead of creating separate tokens to capture different parts of the ecosystem, the original meme sits directly at the center of the trading activity.

the potential here is interesting..

as more pairs launch and successful projects emerge, more liquidity could be denominated in BATON.. creating a direct relationship between ecosystem adoption and demand for the original token.

SHIB demonstrated how an ecosystem could expand the reach of a meme, but that expansion also introduced multiple assets competing for capital and utility.

BATON’s model has the potential to concentrate more of that activity around one asset.

this isn’t to say one model is inherently better.. or that BATON is going to reach SHIB’s valuation.
