OPINION: The College Lake Water Supply Project is essential for the water security of all who call the Pajaro Valley home https://t.co/v2Ol2pKxQO ⬅️ @PV_Water board chair Amy Newell underlines the importance of the big ongoing projects and thanks residents for their patience
College Road between East Lake Avenue/Hwy 152 and Lakeview Road will continue to be restricted to local traffic/residents only due to limited #road width for higher volume commute #traffic and trenching work, associated with the @PV_Water’s College Lake Pipeline Project.

#FactFriday What are turnouts?🤔
PV Water uses turnouts to transfer supplemental water to farmers' irrigation systems. The turnout is where the irrigators/farmers connect their irrigation pipes to PV Water's Coastal Distribution system!
With the removal of sediment and suspended soils of College Lake water, we will be placing the solids in future lagoons here and letting them dry and then removing them in the fall when we will do maintenance on the lake and facilities.
Work hours on Highway 152 are 9am-3pm. Work hours in farmers' fields are 6am-6pm. Work hours at the Weir/Intake/Treatment Plan Monday-Saturday, 10-hour days, typically 7am-5pm.

Though most of the water runs off into the ocean, in most years water gets pumped in excess during the summer greater than winter recharge, only in heavy rain years like this will we have an accretive year when we have groundwater levels higher than the previous water year.

Recent science has how many groundwater basins have faster recharge rates than previously expected, with rates in many parts of the valley recharging many meters of water per day, especially once fully saturated and with high river flow rates.
