The track & field teams competed in districts on May 12 at Waverly. The girls placed second and the boys placed third.
There were several athletes who qualified for state. Among those were junior Scarlett Fulkerson, sophomore Alexis Pomajzl and junior Peter Winters.

Biology students wrap up the year with carnation dissections in Lori Watson’s class.
The dissection connects the flowers to evolution and teach students more about that process.
“The flower shows several adaptations which connects to the evolution unit,” Watson said.

Seniors got the opportunity to paint their uniforms with mascots and logos from their future college or university.
“I like that I got to express what school I am going to,” senior Blair Bergevin said.

To celebrate the seniors’ last full day of high school, many went without socks and some even went completely barefoot on “dogs out day.”
Throughout the halls on May 8, students and staff could hear the slapping of tile coming from “naked dogs” as some called it.

Something was off the moment students pulled into the parking lot Tuesday morning.
On May 5, many students decided to park differently causing chaos in the parking lot.
“Yeah, I kind of got the word off of Instagram and all that,” junior James Neal said.

In fourth year Spanish classes, soon-to-graduate seniors created anonymous gifts for each other.
Senior Ashley Steckelberg got to pick a quality in a person and personalize a gift for them.
“You have to find something to fit that person well,” Steckelberg said.

The JV and freshmen track & field teams had a successful meet at Lincoln Northwest on April 30.
Both the girls freshmen 4×100-meter relay team and 4×400-meter relay team got first in their races.
“It felt really good,” freshman 4×100-meter relay runner Sayler Buglewicz said.

Fr. Tony Schukei celebrated the Mass.
Senior Abbey Johnson said, “Since he is one of the senior class’s favorite priests, it was nice that he gave the homily.”
