We found this little 🐝 on step in the gazebo. He wasn’t moving very much we gave him some sugar water. He started doing better and took a nap on my hand in the last pic. He started to fly around but kept coming back to our hands for more sugar water.

It may still be a little damp outside but today is officially recognized by the province as the first day of the wildfire season. That means burn restrictions are now in effect across Nova Scotia.

Between March 15th and October 15th there is no burning permitted between the hours of 8a.m and 2p.m - and anyone looking to burn or have an outdoor fire after 2p.m is required to check for further restrictions. Those restrictions are updated daily at 2p.m on the provincial 'burnsafe' website. The province also notes that individuals must also follow the municipal bylaws on burning for any given area.

Last year was the worst wildfire season ever recorded in Nova Scotia, with 220 reported wildfires that burned through 25-thousand hectares of land and destroyed more than 200 homes.
