This week, I worked on a major overhaul for the first night.
Getting caught by the enemy no longer means an instant game over. I’m changing it into a 3-step warning system with cracked-screen damage and glitch effects on the handheld.
I’m also reworking the pre-shift flow, the 2D game inside the handheld, enemy warning effects, screen glitches, and a simple GUI for PC tasks.
A demo is still undecided, but I’m starting to consider it.
Night Portable is a horror game about surviving a night shift in a used game shop, where a retro handheld game may be your only way to stay alive.
