This reminds me of an interview experience I had while hiring a social media manager.

During the Zoom interview, he mentioned that he stammered a lot. I could have continued the interview and judged him based on how well he could speak under pressure.

Instead, I told him we should end the Zoom interview. I asked my HR to create a WhatsApp group immediately and add everyone who needed to be part of the process. We continued the entire interview process through chat.

He was able to express himself properly. We asked questions, he gave his answers, we discussed his experience, and we evaluated him based on what actually mattered for the role. He got the job and he went on to do a beautiful and amazing job for years.

I’ve never regretted that decision. It taught me something I still carry as a founder....

Sometimes the problem isn’t that someone lacks the ability. The problem is that we’ve created a process that makes it difficult for them to show their ability.

If the job is about social media, don’t make speaking fluently on a Zoom call the test.

If the job is about writing, don’t make speed of verbal communication the test.

If someone has a difficulty, ask yourself:

"What is the best way for this person to show me what they can actually do?"

Good hiring is about giving capable people a fair chance to prove what they can do.

I was robbed at around 12:00 a.m. at Idimu Roundabout. They blocked my vehicle, forced me into it, and drove me to Graceland Estate. After that, they pushed me out and drove away along Iba LASU Road.

My vehicle is a Lexus RX 350 (2006/2008 model). If anyone sees it or has any information, please kindly reach out to me.

I thank God for sparing my life. It was a very horrible and terrifying experience, but in every situation, we must always give thanks to God.

Earlier this month, someone from a top football agency reached out to me. Think about the agency as top 3 football agency in the world.

He saw my tweet from months ago about two Nigerian players from the NPFL.

For me, I watch every single league of football, I can sit down for 90mins to watch Indian division 3 league.

Anyways, I watch lots of NPFL games, thanks to Propel Sports (and this is why we need to keep improving our league. At least, they were able to broadcast most games this season, a very big step). I identify some players whenever I watch these games, I still have the tweets up, this agent was also monitoring those players and boom, he’s asked for my opinion.

In fact, I didn’t see his message till days after.

I gave my opinion on those players, based off what I’ve watched with my eyes. I’m not someone that tweets about games like “updates”, I would usually tweet about games I’m watching with my eyes. Good part is I’ve watched that NPFL team more than 4 times this season. So, I gave an honest account of these players.

I thought it ended there, he asked me what countries I think would suit these players. I mentioned the countries I know they’ll most likely thrive.

PS: The person came across my account on X, I do not know him from jack. I could also get my Agent license anytime I want, but I have other plans…but you see contacts like this, “if” I eventually get my license, I already have a contact, plus many other contacts I have across Europe.

For now, I’ll focus on talent Identification, and people around the world can notice me even if NFF can’t give me shout out at least for Okonkwo, Alebiosu, and Azeez haha.

We never know where our next breakthrough will come from, but it’ll come, keep believing.
