When defacing public monuments, throwing statues in the sea, stopping traffic and other acts of vandalism go unpunished because "they're not hurting anyone" you inevitably invite more destructive behaviour.

These are children waiting to be told "enough". If this person is not jailed for many, many years you will see more destruction of irreplaceable art and history.
