We open a brokerage account for a company at Fidelity, and then help companies either buy a custom portfolio of short-dated Treasuries, or hold cash in a money market fund
Today I’m happy to announce Jetstream, a $10M fund that invests in pre-seed startups focused on climate, sustainability, and biodiversity. https://t.co/2y2hNROQuV /1
@SMB_Attorney Fidelity money market advice is spot on. Yield on $1m minimum one is close to 4% and cash in a brokerage account avoids tail risk of FDIC limits. If you want fixed rate, buy secondary market Treasuries online at Fidelity. We do that for companies now - https://t.co/Zvz2Elm2Ob
@rexsalisbury@iamjakestream Great point, Rex. And on reducing friction, I run an RIA and we recently launched a service for buying Treasuries for companies - https://t.co/Zvz2Elm2Ob
@millerannette Add in a cash balance pension plan and you can take the 58K to much more - often 120-200K combined depending on income and age. 58K maxed out 401k plans can be found in some private equity and VC firms - works best with high cash flow and relatively few employees

@andrewparker @accrossd @haridigresses Black Diamond using ByAll Accounts to aggregate should work for all but edge cases. Works very well with Fidelity 2FA for sure.
@ChrisHarveyEsq@dunkhippo33 Interesting! With a multi-member LLC you do need to file a company tax return each year (typically needs a CPA and you each get K-1s), so perhaps the easier long-term move is take the Series 65? Doesn’t require a firm to sponsor you, has no continuing ed, and is multiple choice

@joepohlen@realEstateTrent First Republic and Silicon Valley Bank can intelligently underwrite business owners - both banks genuinely have judgment and discretion in lending decisions. DM me if you want intros
