Balance, dare I say it, is vastly over-rated. In the end, you might want to consider the benefits of imbalance, and the achievements that come with pursuing a passion with single minded devotion.
If your clients have poor technique with the "boring stuff" like push-ups, rows, lunges, birddogs, etc......please, fix THOSE (I.e., do your job) before putting in rest-pause deficit deadlifts vs. chains with a 3-3-1 tempo into someone's program.
Don't confuse being loud and confident with being proficient or correct, and don't confuse being quiet with not having the answers. Many brazen coaches are idiots, and many bright folks I know are very reserved. Just b/c someone has a megaphone doesn't mean you have to listen.

Simple formula
General Rule: For optimal performance you want to "pin" shoulder blades together and down (think: bench press). For optimal health you want the shoulder blades to MOVE (think: push-ups). Protraction/reaching is kind of a big deal.
