@widow_waiting Im grateful for your account and the sharing of your story. Before I came across you I didn’t know there was a name for the feelings I felt before losing my best friend but now I feel reassured it was okay to feel how I felt and share this with others. Thank you. Sending love xx
We as a society do not make enough space for grief. We manage it so poorly. We wait for it to be over or the person to be “back to normal” so we can have our needs met or don’t have to deal with it. Burying it is almost lorded as a “sign of strength”.
@widow_waiting As much as I can feel your hurt through your writing, your honesty about your situation is something I admire. I wish we could share your pain the way you share your stories with us. Take care x
@SammyWinemaker@cyb1967 I think being so exposed to death we sometimes don’t realise the importance of sharing details like that as to us it’s part of the process and no thing to fear, but to relatives etc, it’s very scary and easy to misinterpret as starving them!
@SammyWinemaker@cyb1967 This!! I remember explaining this to a family a few years back and will not forget the reassurance it gave them. I now try to mention it to other families too in a hope it helps others. x
