Cortes also started making peace with the Indians in Mexico and developed mines and farmlands to make goods to import into Europe.

This caused inflation in Spain and the economy suffered for a long time.

A rise in population made the demand for farming higher so prices went up, the value of silver also went down since there was so much already being mined.

We also found a lot of gold and silver, as well as imported a lot of new resources. This has made Spain the richest country in the world in the 16th century.

The surviving Aztecs were exploited and we made them work for us as the lower class.

After a few years, many things have happened, for starters, Tenochtitlan is now being turned into what we'll call Mexico City since Mexico is the name the Aztecs used in their Nahuatl language for their country.

As a result of the Battle of Tenochtitlan, the Aztec empire fell and we are now able to spread the colonies throughout Mesoamerica. Even though I feel happy that we won there's a little part of me that feels guilty for killing all those people.

April 23: VICTORIA!!!! Our siege of Tenochtitlan was successful. Over 93 we battled the defenders until we completely rid of their forces! Yet another victory for the Spanish! The Aztec empire is ours!!!

May 22: We started our siege on the capital. We had over 800 soldiers and over 10 thousand indigenous warriors on our side.

May 21: We are ready to start the assault on Tenochtitlan, tomorrow we will bring all our forces and fight the warriors, wish us luck!

We have recently discovered that we have accidentally brought with us some diseases such as smallpox and influenza, since we're used to those diseases they do not affect us but the natives aren't so lucky. Many of them have fallen seriously ill and many have died.

We've been joined by thousands of indigenous warriors willing to help us fight the Aztecs and take over their land. I'm positive that we will be victorious. ONWARD!

We've returned to Tlaxcala, we will start rebuilding our forces and planning our next move, for now, we have to wait a while...

Even with our best efforts, the Aztecs managed to find us. Over 600 of our soldiers got slain by the rioters. Some got captured and sent to get sacrificed to their gods. A truly sad event for all of us, it will be known as "La Noche Triste" or "The Sad Night"

Something Terrible happened. The rioters started throwing rocks and spears at Montezuma, nearly killing him. He is in critical condition, I don't know how this is going to end.

In the last resort decision, Cortes decided to send out Montezuma to calm down the rioting citizens. Hopefully, this works.
