This is why we need to repeal the 17th amendment, as senators today do not represent the states. They only care about themselves, most of them. It’s a dysfunctional body, who don’t care about the will of the people. We need to go back to the original intent of the constitution the founders gave us where the state legislatures choose the senator and pay their salaries. The latter part deviates a bit from the original constitution but it has to be done.
