It punishes whole nation since many Russian citizens would watch games. Leader values killing ukrainians more than giving young athletes changes to play that is unfortunate.

And you mean ww1 germany divided soviet union for half a year? I was focusing what happed during 1991. I'm not that well educated about ww1 i'll admit that.

@Sakkamadakka @ve41191 @rinalu_ Did it happen as punitive measure or because people wanted to leave USSR by themselfs and system collapsed which ultimately led to this outcome. U.S helped USSR and many crimes were forgiven. While others got punished. I find it hard to see USSR as victim ,but all good for you.

Stalin did choose areas to starve and also choose certain groups of people to frontlines that had zero incentive to fight against for example finns. And those people happened to be Ukrainian.

I did like many Russian people that me and my father had met.I was never fan of Russian goverment or how some of lost land got treated. Nowdays it's hard to talk about russian people.

Finland had to pay soviet union after war for "crimes". That had some good side effects like industralization. There was period where i had hope for Russia.

@Sakkamadakka @ve41191 @rinalu_ Well depending on source old estimated 20-40million own people killed by stalin reality is closer to 6-12. Hitler killed about 15 million more people overall ,but less of hes own. Some stalin numbers includes him staving 5+ million people by exporting goods away.

@CrazyHeadCoach @rinalu_ Stalin only executed,starved and tortured 8-20 million people for fun. 6 million Ukrainians starved to death because he exported their goods for guns. Later Ukrainians and other people that were seen as lesser got send to die to finns.

@pseudomanga @svegfinne @rinalu_ If you allow leaders to justify demands and wars for possible threats we would have wars everywhere. Poland would demand land from Germany and Russia. Baltics would demand buffer zone. Russia often finds themselfs starting wars somehow.

Russia has plenty of poorly used land that they could give for Poland for their past crimes right? Stalin killed more own citizens than nazis,Ukrainians where left without food and send to Finland.
