It’s not pessimism. It’s reality. To the point that it is easy to see how expression of optimism is denialism.
Help is not on the way. Better days are not ahead. So hunker down, get more local, connect more w/ur family, circle & community. It is all we will have to rely upon.
Watching the UK fills me with dread. The U.S. is next.
I actually have kids in this age group, & I understand their plight. All of these laws & bans are about surveillance/control/isolation & have *nothing* to do with protecting kids. This won’t stop with kids either.
Talking about keeping “children safe online” while exploiting your own child for social media views by forcing them to record political content promoting your harmful policies.
In my lifetime, China lifted 850 million people out of poverty, while the US created one trillionaire. It is clear as day that socialism is the key to our future.
Always Sunny is a million times more "politically incorrect" than the Office ever was and its currently the longest running US sitcom ever. This is probably the "edgiest" joke in the office and it would only be "offensive" to the people that complain about political correctness
"AI is likely to produce neither a job apocalypse nor productivity utopia, but something harder to measure: a quiet degradation of the quality of the jobs that remain," per Bloomberg
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer caught on a hot mic talking about the controversial Al data center being built despite overwhelming opposition: "We're used to people saying 'f*ck no!', and then doing it anyway."
🇵🇪 Peruvian leftist presidential candidate Roberto Sánchez publicly invited his right-wing rival Keiko Fujimori on Thursday to jointly request a vote recount, as the country’s runoff remains a statistical tie nearly a week after polls closed.
“In light of the extremely narrow electoral result, I wish to publicly extend an invitation to Keiko Fujimori to meet at the earliest opportunity and act together in defense of transparency and public trust,” Sánchez wrote, proposing a joint request for “a thorough review and recount of the votes in all those tally sheets that the legislation allows.”
With about 98% of tally sheets processed, fewer than a thousand votes separate the two, and the lead has changed hands repeatedly. Electoral authorities say no winner has been declared and a final result may not come until mid-July. Fujimori has separately said she hopes to speak with Sánchez.
