Dear @ASU and @uarizona and @UUtah we invite you to take the offer to join the mighty Big12 conference. It really is too good an offer to pass up. It was nice hanging with you all these years but now it’s time for you all to look out for what’s best for your athletics programs
@TheWildUte I hate to be bearer of bad news. Nothing
is going happen in the ACC until 2036 and AZ is not going to sign Pac12 deal than is mainly streaming and materially below Big12.
It’s not matter if the Pac12 is going to die but when.
@AMarkhamRivals Utah shortsightedness/blind loyalty is what’s going to cost them in the end (admin reminds me Larry Scott & GK)
Props to Az, ASU, and Colorado for being able to see the big picture and read the room
@DearOldCrimson The bottom line is Big 12 only needs 2 of the four corner schools. AZ is leaving next
ASU/Utah will be nice addition but if they don’t leave when the opp. presents itself BY will pivot to SDSU/UCONN
The problem with UT is think they’re Oregon/UW when they’re more like AZ/ASU
@DearOldCrimson Utah loyalty to the Pac12 may cost them in the end. I get GK/LS vibes from Utah admin (all is well mentality and not proactive). ASU is like this to lesser degree but ASU is not willing to die on the Pac12 hill
I can see UCONN, ASU, and AZ getting the final 3 spots in the Big12
@SSN_TTU I think the four corner schools have similar market value have already been vetted and the remaining 3 schools if invited would not dilute the revenue (could be wrong)
Rule #1 of conference realignment...believe nobody! A vote of confidence or commitment means absolutely nothing. At the end of the day, every school is going to do what is best for itself. See CU 🦬
I'm so torn and upset about the Pac-12 falling on its face. It's my conference. The pride of the west coast. The conference of Champions. Make no mistake, it was USC and UCLA that did this. I hate the way things are going. I need stability and I need it now. UW deserves better.
@AMarkhamRivals If the Big12 stops at 14 teams, ASU/Utah could be on the outside looking in.
When Oregon, UW, Stanford join the Big 10, Utah, ASU, OSU, and WSU will be new MWC
Big 12 could also decide to invite SDSU instead of Utah. The Southern Cal market moves the needle more then SLC
Remember that conference reallignment is like chess. To play well you should be thinking a few moves ahead. That is what CU is doing. If Pac 12 stays together, implodes now or in in 2030 they are set with Big12. Others looking a few moves down the road as well…including TV.
Assuming this Big 12 deal happens ... the most Big 12 title game appearances by football teams that will be in the Big 12 a year from now:
4 - Colorado
4 - Kansas State

Sources: The Big 12’s presidents and chancellors voted unanimously Wednesday night on a conference call to accept Colorado as a new member. Colorado still has not formally applied for Big 12 membership, which is expected to happen tomorrow.
@BodkinKSLsports Arizona and ASU will be next dominos to fall.
If Utah doesn’t play their cards right, they will end up back in the MWC after the Pac 12 dies or Pac 12 full of MWC schools
Updated story on Colorado's potential move to the Big 12. Colorado is in deep discussions, and there's a public board meeting set for Colorado to vote on an "Athletics Operations" item. The Big 12 Presidents have a meeting to discussion expansion tonight.
