NBI says there is a threat.
PNP says there is no verified threat.
AFP says it received no direct threat.
So what exactly is the truth?
Are we now inventing situations to explain the failures of government? Are we now creating confusion to buy time? Are we now paralyzing the Senate to delay the day the public finally finds out what really happened?
A threat to security must always be taken seriously. But a threat to democracy must be taken even more seriously.
Because when conflicting statements from government agencies are enough to stop the Senate from doing its work, the Filipino people have every right to ask:
Who benefits from the delay?
Who benefits from the confusion?
Who benefits when the truth is kept waiting?
The Senate must resume normal operations.
The public deserves answers.
And the truth must not be held hostage by fear, excuses, or political convenience.
ATTY.
| via Camille Samonte
The Duterte era is over. Team Pilipinas is moving forward.”

CHINA IMPOSES SANCTIONS ON GIBO TEODORO, FAMILY
MANILA, Philippines — China has officially imposed sanctions on Defense Secretary Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. and his immediate family, marking a significant escalation in the already tense relationship between Beijing and Manila over regional security and maritime disputes.
In a statement released on June 11, China’s Foreign Ministry announced that Teodoro, his spouse, and their children are prohibited from entering mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau. The sanctions also prohibit Chinese organizations and individuals from engaging in transactions, cooperation, or other activities with them.
Beijing justified the move by accusing Teodoro of making what it described as repeated “irresponsible remarks” regarding China and of taking actions that allegedly undermined China’s interests and damaged China-Philippines relations.
The sanctions come amid continuing tensions in the West Philippine Sea and the broader South China Sea, where the Philippines and China have repeatedly clashed over competing maritime claims. As Defense Secretary, Teodoro has been among the Philippine government’s most vocal officials in criticizing Chinese actions in disputed waters and advocating a stronger national defense posture.
China’s latest action is considered one of the strongest diplomatic measures it has taken against a sitting Philippine Cabinet official. Analysts view the sanctions as a reflection of the increasingly strained relationship between the two countries amid ongoing maritime disputes, military modernization efforts, and the Philippines’ expanding defense partnerships with allied nations.
Teodoro previously responded to reports of possible Chinese restrictions by stating that he has no plans to visit China and that the reported measures would not affect his duties as Defense Secretary.
While the sanctions carry symbolic and diplomatic significance, they also underscore the growing geopolitical tensions in the region as Manila and Beijing continue to exchange sharp criticisms over security, sovereignty, and freedom of navigation issues.
