I'll probably be posting A LOT about Gutekunst in the next 10 days because I have plenty to say about the roster he's built.

If TE Tucker Kraft doesn't sign an extension before the first game of the season, I won't write another negative thing about GM-for-life Brian Gutekunst from Sept. 14, 2026, until Jan. 1, 2027. That's how confident I am that Kraft will be signing an extension in the next 30 days.

MarShawn Lloyd is a more intriguing prospect than Kaleb Johnson. If Lloyd can stay healthy long enough to shake off the rust, he has the potential to really help the offense as the season progresses. In the meantime, ball security must be a priority, which it wasn't always at SC.

I can see why the Steelers were ready to move on from Kaleb Johnson. His tape from last season wasn't impressive. He lacks speed and explosiveness, so he really needs to break tackles, which he didn't do often. Maybe a change of scenery will do him good, but I'm highly skeptical.

GM Brian Gutekunst said he kept 10 offensive linemen on the 53 because he feared other teams would poach the young backups (Donovan Jennings, John Williams, and Travis Glover).

The Packers have added a long snapper to the practice squad. Scott Daly is wearing No. 46. He’s been in the league since 2018 and started for the Lions and Bears the last five seasons.

Maybe not having Josh Jacobs will benefit the offense. It might force Matt LaFleur to throw more, which makes sense when arguably 5 of your top 10 players are at QB, WR, and TE.

Compared to this time last season, the Packers are weaker at QB (a bit), RB (a lot), OL, and DE (a lot), stronger at WR (a bit), DT, and CB (a bit). TE and S are about the same.
