More consistent volume for Jordan Love is the next step. He's proven to be elite from an efficiency/play-to-play standpoint. Time to see where the offense can go with passing volume. Especially if the WRs and TEs are healthy and the OL bounces back.
Update on Colts QB Anthony Richardson, who is available via trade. No deal is imminent, per multiple sources. There are interested teams, but the dust is still settling from free agency.
One particular team to monitor: the Green Bay Packers.
Gonna talk about this on a video soon but i think the Packers basically have to do one of these things:
1. Not draft a WR they want to keep on the 53
2. Trade Reed
3. Trade Wicks
4. Release Savion
5. Release Skyy Moore
I know that everyone wants Hargrave, but I really don't see him as fulfilling the need you have at NT. He's not the pass rusher that he used to be, but he's never been a run stuffer. He seems more like a Wooden replacement. But you still need someone between Wyatt and Hargrave.
I think that this is exactly right. Getting off of these contracts was the right move, imo, but that doesn't mean that the team is better today than it was a month ago. These are a lot of major parts of the team gone.
Roster decay is very real in Green Bay. You can debate the quality of the players lost, but...
Rashan Gary
Elgton Jenkins
Quay Walker
Malik Willis
Nate Hobbs
Kingsley Enagbare
Romeo Doubs
Rasheed Walker
Colby Wooden
2026 team probably won't be as talented as the 2025 team.
Packers not quite in a rebuild but also miles away from a "run it back" scenario. Seems to indicate that Gute thinks this team had real holes. It wasn't merely a question of injuries.
Veteran DL Roy Lopez is signing with the Cardinals on a two-year, $11.5 million deal with $7M guaranteed, sources tell me and @RapSheet.
Lopez returns to Arizona on a deal negotiated by @ZekeSandhu of @KlutchSports
