@dondarlingSJ The tax system needs an overhaul agreed, but to say the current system is solely a provincial problem is not accurate. The municipality knows the system, and use it to their advantage. My taxes increased 27% and the province doesn’t get that, the municipality does

@JeanneCBC I called in in 2012 to ask about an appeal and was told if I did, my assessment would increase and he strongly recommended I did not. I heeded his warning, but it still climbs every year!

@CMiramichi @gnb So nice surprise today…27% increase in property taxes! The icing on the cake…the additional charge to pay for the cost of the assessment! Unbelievable…I would love to hear someone try to justify this! Province and City equally share the blame on this file!

@SamJohn43200587 @Sportsnutz99 Thanks for the cheap shot! I have never stopped advocating for the bypass…that photo of the sign you shared, that was my campaign. I was the most vocal person on this file for a year, but after being misled by politicians decided that it was in my best interest to step back.

2024 is going to be a tough year for Miramichi families, @NB_Power wants increases of over $300 and they are asking for the same in 2025, and another 10% plus increase in @CMiramichi property taxes, both the province and city are have surpluses, a little relief would be nice!
