How does it work?

Subsidies: The government provides substantial subsidies to reduce the upfront cost of installing rooftop solar systems:
60% subsidy for systems up to 2 kW capacity 40% subsidy for systems between 2 kW and 3 kW capacity Subsidy is capped at a maximum capacity of 3 kW

Objective:
The PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (Prime Minister's Solar Homes: Free Electricity Scheme) is a government initiative in India designed to promote the adoption of rooftop solar power systems.
The primary goal is to provide financial assistance and encourage households to become self-sufficient in electricity generation.

Key Feature:

The scheme's highlight is the provision of up to 300 units of free electricity per month to eligible beneficiaries who install rooftop solar systems.
