I booked my flight and hotel to coincide with Caesars & Wynn mixed schedules + some of wsop. Thanks to @AllenKessler for a preview of Caesars schedule. Take note GN, Aria, Orleans and MGM. Mid March is the latest for me and likely many others to arrange travel. See you in 2025!
But for us mixed game fans, the choice is naturally much more limited. So it is hugely important to have schedules out early, even more so for international players like myself with flight cost considerations, work holiday, etc. My annual 3 week trip ends early June this year.
@OrleansPokerRo1 Horse, 8game, throes and 2-7 (both triple draw and single draw). Badugi too. Main thing is the schedule coming out too late. I delayed booking my flight while waiting for your schedule and paid considerably more. If no schedule by end of March, I'll pass on your series next year.
@MBdaytrading Hi there. Could you or @Borg74 possibly provide a chart for #enq from current level? I have just a basic knowledge of charts but the way you both summarise them helps me a lot for shared holds. #aet chart would be a bonus but not too important as I'm in that for the whole ride.
@NorthernJack88 If you or any readers have access to Level 2, would be grateful if you could post a screenshot for #aet. Looking to go shopping. Again.
@OrleansPokerRo1 My recommendation is to add 5 minutes to the clock. It's not a good look when players are busting quicker than you can break the tables.
@OrleansPokerRo1 The 20 minute clocks for your smaller mixed events were too much of a turbo. It was made worse by some of your weaker dealers only managing 4-5 hands a level. I didnt enjoy levels being skipped mid comp so that you could bring forward your chip colour-up to the next break

@Jesper_M_Olsen@IGcom@Petro_Tal Yeh true, but I would just like @Petro_Tal to confirm the withholding tax was applied before dividends were shipped abroad. @IGcom have no business applying the withholding tax when it has already been taken at source, something they should know. How best to deal with my broker?
@feynzz Just a quick question about #PTAL dividends. @IGcom paid me 0.68 pence per share. They withheld 25% from the amount they received before paying me. My initial query resulted in them saying they were happy with the calculation. Am I missing something?
@feynzz Tried to buy a chunk with AJBell yesterday, but a blocking message came up that tax forms need to be submitted in to be able to buy. Never seen this before. Any advice?
@AllenKessler At $680+120, I dont wanna play. If others do, enjoy your game. If the venue you are paying $680+120 to play a 2 day poker tournament isnt printing money irrespective of their non poker offerings or the regional state tax, I suggest they dont know what they are doing.
@AllenKessler I think the most diplomatic way to make my point is that, as a poker player/customer, I have a threshold for the amount I'm prepared to pay to enter a tournament. That threshold would be higher if I viewed poker as entertainment (eg restaurant tip/service or theatre show). I dont
@AllenKessler So if I played two hundred $800 tournaments over a calender year at say $720+80, I would expect to end up in profit as a studious and competent player. At $680+120, I expect to be a long term loser. As a poker player, it is irrelevant to me what the state tax is.
@pkrprncss @AllenKessler You're spot on Mandi, but doesnt make it right. Many recreational players have no idea what the rake is when they enter. If they did, poker venues would have to stop taking advantage very quickly.
@AbrahamMobley@AllenKessler Correct, I dont know of all related costs. I have pretty good idea though, having worked in the industry for 8 years. I'd bet that break even for a 2-day event with 1100+ runners is under $60 rake in any country with a reasonable gambling tax policy. Over $100 is a money grab
