Great running of mixed remote and in person Paediatric renal clinic yesterday. @RHCGlasgow specialist, @nhsborders trainee & specialist nurse @edinunimedicine student on #nearme and families and local consultant in clinic. Worked much better than last attempt with all online.
Fantastic #PaedEdSim session today for @NHSBorders - not easy cases: Tricyclic Ingestion, Diabetic Ketoacidosis , & SVT - well handled by ED ! - we've already updated #DKA guideline and replying to more questions at #qPaedEdSim@mededborders - Thanks to ANP & CDF team for help
Team setting up for today's @mededborders sim training. First case. Unconscious child with drug ingestion. Follow on #paededsim questions on #paededsim. Join the fun.
@howell_annabel Families are a critical part of our care team in @CoNoahs & Neonatal unit. Which we've sustained (with adaptations) throughout. Lots of evidence of the benefits - so not surprising. Good to see recognised here.
What a lovely way to start the morning, a great meeting with colleagues @NHSBorders@EdinburghNeo. Thanks @PaedMedEd, who even provided virtual scones π. Very happy to do this again, & Iβm already looking forward to the time when real scones will be possible π
2 New @NHSBorders training team members. Nursing simulators for training of staff and parents. Still to be named. Suggestions welcome. @CoNoahs@mededborders replaces rather well used Chuckie
Full marks to Edinburgh Med Students in Simulation today on unconscious child in @NHSBorders Didn't fall for the distracting head injury & didn't forget the glucose #defg Didnt even need the extra clue! @EdinUniMedicine@mededborders
