Not everyone who sits early stays there.
The athlete who barely plays the first couple years can become the star later on.
They may be the last one on the bench as a freshman or sophomore, never seeing the field. Then by the time they’re an upperclassman, they’re making plays and the leader of your team.
Those athletes don’t care what anyone thinks.
They grind when nobody is watching. They don’t just talk about it.
They decide they’re done watching other people play. They’re going to get theirs. They’re going to do what others refuse to do.
They take care of their bodies. They refuse to smoke, drink, or live on garbage food.
They understand they may have to do more than others because they may not have the same natural talent.
They study their notes. They study film. They listen to coaching. They watch others make mistakes and refuse to repeat them.
They go to bed not just to sleep, but to recover.
And they do it every damn day.
