“Dying
Is an art, like everything else.
I do it exceptionally well.
I do it so it feels like hell.
I do it so it feels real.
I guess you could say I have a call.”
― Sylvia Plath, Ariel
(Art by Frank Frazetta)
in this piece, i feel a reconnection to what i thought love really was. it is an orange traffic cone standing on the road that both instructs you to not drive AND drive at the same time; to not delve into the superficial, but still continue to love.
this piece falls short in describing love but i tried to align it to erich fromm's concept of modern love, that it is now modelled on how we consume and barred by many circumstances. in his "art of love," he describes how it should be done.
