We can confirm that we don't wish to add Gautam Gambhir to our coaching staff. He clearly has talent, though. To take those Indian players and deliver those results in Ireland takes truly remarkable gifts.
Shan left home at 11.
At 2, he was abandoned by his parents.
He was raised by his grandmother.
And then passed on to 10 different families.
Everybody wanted a house-help more than they wanted to take care of a child.
One day, he just ran from his hometown in Assam.
Worked odd jobs, multiple side gigs.
With nothing to fall back on.
Today he works with us.
Always professional and smiling.
No complaints.
For over a year, I never knew any of this.
Last night when I took my Vizag team out for dinner,
that's when I got to know about his story.
And it made the entire table go silent.
Because it reminded us of something:
You never know what battle someone has already won before you meet them.
Some people are carrying a story that would break most of us.
Yet they show up every day and keep moving forward.
So we have one person from the Admin team who manages the office reception.
His name is Shashank.
Shashank is leaving and will be replaced by a new girl.
So a friend asked
"Who's this new girl"
Me: "Shashank's replacement"
Friend: "What's her name?"
Me:"Ummm.. She-shank"

If the fish 'Bombay Duck' is known by that name everywhere then they must call it just 'Duck' in Bombay cos it's already here.
But it's a fish so you can't call it a Duck.
If I were in school right now then coming Monday would've been Maths exam for me. Always the day after #Dushera
Indian schools knew how to ruin festivals.
Senior at work:
"Hey buddy! Nice haircut!"
Me:
"Thanks NS! It's hot na"
Both awkwardly looking at each other, trying to process what I said.
