Ann Fritz of Blue Valley North
Fritz has racked up 672 wins in her career with five state titles (1998, 2000, 2005, 2023, 2025) as the Mustangs go out on top with the 6A state championship over Derby this year in Wichita. Fritz was born in Ohio and played basketball at the University of Nebraska. Her father was an NFL player and NFL coach. Athletic success runs strong in her family as her husband Ed is also a Kansas coaching legend that built the BV Northwest program into a dynasty before coaching in Missouri. Brother in law, Willie Fritz, is the head football coach at Houston. Fritz featured 5-star KU signee Jaliya Davis and Harvard signee Aubrey Shaw as they finished 21-4 with only losses to out of state teams. She also won this award in 2023. “Loved the relationships with every girl on this team! This seasons memories and relationships will last a lifetime. The girls played for each other. Individual performances never mattered. It was always the team first. We always looked out for each other and happy for each other.” Fritz said. #sportsinkansas
