Avg. flawed human (for now in flesh and blood) in service. Paranoid optimist (things CAN always get worse and yet….) speaking just for myself. Hope ≠ strategy
@PublicStorage
We just got to our newly rented unit and found someone else’s stuff in the unit (that was empty on inspection last week). No response on the local customer service line. Who do I call for immediate assistance?
@mcuban Thanks for calling attention, Mark. I am shocked this segment has not been upended by smart money and startups. I have through painful experience come to the disheartening conclusion that you get access to timely standard care in the US only through connections or private wealth
@EricTopol@amazon Just like in clinical medicine when you sometimes need to go directly to the attending to get stuff done; suggest tagging Andy Jassy, Doug Herrington and watch people falling in line to help you with this. Good luck and onwards!
@helaineolen And the coaches involved are either relatively clueless or downright nefarious in their approach. And of course, the PE guys are there to suck everyone’s blood. They have found the perfect growth market: selling a rosy future to kids.
@AskPerplexity can you generate a video of Roger Federer playing tennis against Pete Sampras in center court at Wimbledon with the queen song “we are the champions” playing in the background?
@Don_K_Williams And how do we create a space where most kids can continue to play without pressure late into their high school years. The pressure to place labels on clubs and kids is destroying youth sport experience. And we are now exporting this model all over the world -gekko mindset :(
@Don_K_Williams The challenge for like minded folks (coaches like you and parents like me) is a David versus Goliath analogy. How do we convince parents, and how do we save kids from the misinformed coaches and parents who believe more money spent (or distance traveled) equals better results.
@drjohnm@CommunityNotes@DavidLBrownMD@AndrewFoy82@RFRedberg@bogdienache Perfect example of how actual subject matter experts need to chime in to dim all the real dangers of said post to the general less informed public getting bombarded by false claims. Community notes is a start but NOT enough. People get hurt by such false claims.
@BBCWorld, you folks just mentioned (twice) on live TV that the last inauguration indoors was 25 years ago. It was 40 years ago in 1985 for Ronald Reagan. Cheers!
@stevemagness@Liz_Cheney Steve,
Your last sentence says it all (difficult and rare). The responses prove your point. Hoping to see more folks in the younger generation use Liz’s example and stand their ground on their values.
Keep up your advocacy, you have a gift.
Hey @lyft@AskLyft
I left my AirPods in a Lyft ride yesterday. I can see the exact location on my phone. I have made multiple online queries on the website with no response. It is over 24 hours and the phone number on the text no longer goes through. Can someone please assist?
@AmiDar Ami, Thank you for your effort to keep us moving towards a saner path. And certainly the humor helps :) I have tried hard to understand what happened to Bret, and suddenly I realized I should stop trying to convince him. Onwards towards sanity.
@BStulberg Brad, everything you wrote is grounded in logic and modern cultural beliefs.
I try to stay optimistic, and yet the fact that it is a close race and more than 40% of the country (that includes some young educated folks) cannot be made to change their minds is astonishing.
@northwoods1980@hjluks Part of my professional life is preventing iatrogenesis. And my colleagues often hear me make this unrealistic statement: “each family needs to raise at least one health care provider amongst themselves, just so this individual will protect the rest of them from our system!”
