I did some math. Rough projections because there are a lot of variables, but I believe these numbers to be fairly conservative. This is based on the 2016 World Service report of Jehovah's Witnesses and the Australian Royal Commission report, and extrapolating for other lands...
@Ron_POMO@Liliplum2 When most JWs need to pinch and save every penny to attend a convention each year in a city hours away from their home. If they don't attend, they are looked down on as spiritually weak. And while attending they are expected to donate more for the convention costs etc...
@KickAssSp@pimitopomo Should be renamed The Derp of God. Because it is so full of mistakes because the holy prophet of the time was still just an imperfect man and could err when it came to organization matters... and basic Bible teachings.
@VoiceOfOBrien@samriegel I only just started Critical Role campaign 1 like 2 months ago. DnD in November. You have become such a huge part of my life, DnD has saved my life. And Critical Role is constantly helping me in my journey to emotional awareness of self. I am rooting for you.
@PlanetReportHQ Of course the bombing and actions of this individual are not an appropriate response to the group. Whatever his experience was, the individuals in attendance are not the problem. They are victims of cult indoctrination, and do not deserve to be attacked.
@PlanetReportHQ The only prayers at that Watchtower assembly/convention, are the ones uttered at the beginning and end of the session to praise and thank the Governing Body for providing the convention. It is not a prayer gathering. They are not praying for solutions. They hope for genocide.
@anon58245820@NashonOsborne Why did they very obviously use a picture not from a convention of relative size? That photo must be from a old past convention, 10k plus. The time before. 2200 in that arena would be so empty.
I've got a lot going on but I want to do a project and I'd appreciate participatiom from exjws.
My father was named Rex Allen Losh and he refused a blood transfusion and died on May 18th, 1996. He martyered himself for a doomsday cult.
My mother has told me to get over my dead
@IanJames007@IanJames007 you were quite literally the voice of my childhood. I only in the past week found out about our shared cult history. I am a north BC born and raised exJW living in the Okanagan. Thank you for not allowing the cult to remove your voice from the world.
@KMikeyb This is why we were always told that children should not be at the carts. It was in the regulations, unless they were exemplary in behavior and would stand quiet and silent.
@00Dad_Again@Larchwood20 That does not sound like a suggestion, where Jehovah's Witnesses are allowed to make their own personal decisions about medical treatment. "Parents must..." makes it a command. National level child advocates need to recognize that children raised as JWs are in mortal danger.
@Ron_POMO Indicating that I was spiritually mature, and willing to accept the consequences. 16 is never mature enough for a decision with the weight that is incurred by a religious cult and its rules and punishments.
@Ron_POMO This led to the following 20 years of developing trauma, caused by a constant shame and guilt complex, that every normal thing in a young person's life was sinful, and cause to be destroyed at Armageddon, worse so because I was now a baptised JW...
@NoContextHumans My mother would have killed her heart with chips, cheese, and diet coke. She doesn't change despite Dr. recommendations, so 49 million would be a waste for a heart she would ruin. That and she won't pay for the damages she caused to her children. Fuck her.
