In some vital ways, yes. But it goes both ways.

The Catholic religion is the fulfillment of the Old Testament Israelite religion. For example, priesthood, sacrifice, and altar have not been abolished, but fulfilled and continued, now through the priesthood of Christ, the sacrifice of the Eucharist, and Catholic altars throughout the world, fulfilling the prophecy of Malachi 1:11. Likewise, the moral law of the Torah has not been abrogated—indeed thanks to grace, its standards have been raised. Such is the consistent testimony of the Church Fathers from the beginning.

Protestantism (the vast majority), on the other hand, by denying the existence of a priesthood, sacrifice, and altar, and reducing Christian worship to reading the Scriptures, singing, and delivering sermons (all good, but not the fullness of truth, which is Christ’s own sacrifice in the Eucharist), is far closer to post-Christ Rabbinic Judaism that likewise lacks priesthood, sacrifice, and altar. In terms of what it considers worship, protestantism is thereby more akin to the Judaism that rejected Christ, while the Catholic Faith fulfills the Judaism that was looking forward to Him.
