We're being told Glasgow could be made safer if a police office returns to the St. Enoch Centre.

The force was previously given the use of a unit in the mall for a peppercorn rent. The Scottish Police Federation want to see that arrangement return.

It follows safety concerns around St. Enoch Square, which in recent months has witnessed serious assaults, broad daylight drug dealing, retail crime and other antisocial behaviour.

Our reporter witnessed a drug deal in the 15 minutes he was at the Square to interview the SPF's General Secretary. David Kennedy was based at the St. Enoch Centre when he was an officer.

Police Scotland say they use every tool at their disposal to address disorder in the city centre.
