📌 In October 2023, Pakistan witnessed a substantial upsurge in its exports, with a notable increase of 13.5%, resulting in a total of USD 2.7 billion. This surge reflects the growing momentum in our economy.  Furthermore, there is cause for optimism as the trade deficit exhibited a significant reduction of 4.5%! 🇵🇰

📌 During the same period, the Agriculture & Food sector showcased a remarkable growth of 73%, exemplified by substantial increases in the export of products such as rice and sesame seeds. This positive trend underscores the diversification of our exports and the strength of our agricultural industry. 🌾

📌 Exports are diversifying as shown by impressive growth in non-textile sectors. Manufacturing & Engineering exports rose by 11%, and Agriculture surged by 48%. This diversification underscores our strategic approach to economic growth.

📌 From July to October 2023, Pakistan's exports grew by 0.7% to USD 9.6 billion, while imports fell by 18.5%, reducing the trade deficit by 34%. Indicative of economic recovery and macroeconomic stability.

Pakistani Economy is on a positive trajectory and being steered in the right direction. ✅

Trade development Authority of Pakistan organized 3rd Pakistan Uzbekistan Business Forum in Islamabad. The forum was attended by 30 Uzbek and 130 Pakistani business delegates. Mr. Sualeh Ahmad Faruqi, Secretary Commerce, while welcoming the esteemed delegates, encouraged the Uzbek businessmen to invest in potential areas of bilateral trade and promised to facilitate such initiatives through a conducive business environment. Ilkhom Makhkamov Rustamovich, Minister of Transport, appreciated the efforts of both Governments to boost bilateral trade especially in logistics, IT and banking sectors, proposing a way forward to achieve the target of USD 1 billion in brief time through Pakistan-Afghanistan-Uzbekistan railway project. Dr. Fareed Iqbal Qureshi, Secretary TDAP gave a brief overview of bilateral trade, focusing on potential export sectors of Pakistan and possible areas of trade opportunities. The event was followed by B2B meetings of business delegates from both sides.
