The Ambassador of Pakistan to Jordan, H.E. Maj. General Khurram Sarfraz Khan, HI (M) (Retd), held a productive meeting with Jordan’s Minister of Environment, Dr. Ayman Suleiman, on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.
The discussions focused on strengthening Pakistan–Jordan cooperation in the environmental sector, with particular emphasis on sustainable development, climate resilience, green technologies, afforestation initiatives, water conservation, and the promotion of environmentally responsible policies.
Both sides exchanged views on the growing global environmental challenges and underscored the importance of international collaboration to address climate change, biodiversity loss, desertification, and sustainable resource management.
The meeting reaffirmed the deep-rooted and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Jordan and reflected the shared vision of both countries for a greener, more sustainable, and climate-resilient future.
The Ambassador also highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to environmental sustainability under national initiatives aimed at ecological preservation, renewable energy transition, and climate adaptation.

Embassy of Pakistan in Amman held the first ever “Jinnah Readathon 2026”
In celebration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah,
the Embassy of Pakistan in Amman organized the first-ever “Jinnah Readathon 2026” from 17-20 May 2026.
The four-day academic and literary activity brought together students and academicians from various departments of the University of Jordan who engaged in extensive reading and discussion on the life, vision, leadership, and political philosophy of the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. A total of 16 students and academicians from Jordan, Pakistan, China, South Korea, Sweden and Malaysia participated in the 'Jinnah Readathon', during which 16 books on Quaid-e-Azam were read. Collectively, the participants dedicated over 150 hours of continuous reading and study on the Quaid, throughout the Readathon.
The Jinnah Readathon concluded with a closing ceremony held on 20 May 2026 at the Embassy of Pakistan in Amman. During the closing ceremony, participants shared their reflections on their readings about the Quaid e Azam. At the concluding ceremony, certificates and awards were distributed among the participants in recognition of their dedication and active reading engagement throughout the event.
Addressing the ceremony, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Jordan, Major General Khurram Sarfraz Khan HI(M) (Retd), congratulated the participants of Jinnah Readathon and appreciated their enthusiasm as well as intellectual engagement during the event. The students were encouraged to continue academic exchanges and cultural engagement between Pakistan and Jordan.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Pakistan Graduates Club of Jordan; representatives of the Pakistani community in Jordan; faculty members from the University of Jordan; and other distinguished guests.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to further strengthen the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Jordan. The Ambassador appreciated the warm and cordial ties between the two countries and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation at all levels.
H.E. Faisal Fayez commended Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at ending the conflict and restoring peace, security, and stability in the region.

During the meeting, both sides discussed avenues for further strengthening the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Jordan, with particular emphasis on enhancing cooperation in the fields of defence, military training, and professional exchange of expertise. The two sides also reaffirmed their commitment to deepening institutional collaboration and promoting closer engagement between the armed forces of the two countries.

On the occasion of the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, a special event/Seminar was organized at the Chancery today (10 May 2026). The event was attended by prominent Jordanian personalities from different walks of life; members of Pakistani community in Jordan; as well as Embassy officers and staff members.
At the above occasion, Ambassador of Pakistan to Jordan Major General Khurram Sarfraz Khan HI (M) (Retd) also addressed the audience. In his address, Ambassador of Pakistan highlighted that the Marka-e-Haq had become deeply etched in national consciousness of Pakistanis across the world, as a symbol of courage, sacrifice, resilience, and unwavering patriotism of the entire Pakistani Nation.
During the above event, special documentary on the occasion of the 01st Anniversary of Marka-e-Haq was also screened. The messages from the country’s leadership were read out as well. On the margins of the event, the Mission also organized a special pictorial/photo exhibition.

H.E. Major General Khurram Sarfraz Khan (Retd), Ambassador of Pakistan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, called on the Minister of Culture of Jordan, H.E. Mr Mustafa Nasr Mustafa Al Rawashdeh.
During the meeting, both sides discussed avenues to further strengthen cultural cooperation between Pakistan and Jordan. The discussions focused on the activation of the Cultural Cooperation Programme for 2025–2030, including exchange of cultural weeks, Pakistan’s participation in the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts and the Amman International Book Fair, as well as collaboration in cultural and creative industries.
