Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 met with a delegation from the National Defence College of Sri Lanka at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The delegation is visiting Pakistan as part of a foreign study tour and received a briefing on Pakistan’s foreign policy and regional challenges.
DPM/FM warmly welcomed the delegation and wished them a fruitful visit and pleasant stay in Pakistan. He underscored the importance Pakistan attaches to strengthening its relations with Sri Lanka across all domains.
Congratulations to Austria, Kyrgyzstan, Portugal, Trinidad and Tobago, and Zimbabwe on their election as non-permanent members of the #UNSC for the 2027–2028 term. We wish them every success in discharging this important responsibility.

Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 along with Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, held a meeting today with senior leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party as part of routine pre-budget consultations ahead of the Federal Budget.
The discussions focused on current expenditure and development spending priorities, including the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), as well as broader economic priorities such as fiscal sustainability, public welfare measures, development initiatives, and inclusive growth for the fiscal year 2026–2027.
It was unanimously agreed to recommend to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif @CMShehbaz that the Budget for fiscal year 2026–2027 be announced on Wednesday, 10 June 2026.
The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, MNA Syed Naveed Qamar, Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Saleem Mandviwala, Sindh Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro, Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Federal Secretary Finance Imdadullah Bosal, Chairman FBR Rashid Mahmood Langrial, and other senior officials from the concerned ministries and departments.
