Ramsamy informed the Commission that, subsequent to the arrest of the accused in the Mokwele case, IDAC started to urgently search for the original Section 27 referral affidavit.

She referenced an email she sent to Andrea Johnson and other relevant personnel, in which she elucidated that Johnson was, in fact, the last individual confirmed to have possessed the original Section 27 referral affidavit.

Ramsamy says what has transpired with the arrests and contained in the S27 contradict each other. Madlanga says probably lied too. Ramsamy says she's trying to be polite. Ramsamy says she disagreed with the email; she would've disagreed with the contents of the email or sent WhatsApp messages.

Commissioner Khumalo inquired about the methodology employed by IDAC to conduct an investigation that culminated in the arrest of the accused in the Mokwele case, particularly given the absence of knowledge within the unit regarding the whereabouts of the original Section 27 referral affidavit.

Ramsamy acknowledged the pertinence of the question and stated her inability to explain how investigators proceeded with the investigation without access to the original affidavit.

Ramasay stated that she respectfully referred to Johnson as "mama." She characterized Johnson as a kind individual but expressed concerns regarding her work ethic.

[WATCH]: The Madlanga Commission has heard a cellphone conversation between Drushantha Ramsamy and former IDAC head Andrea Johnson, in which Johnson appears to discuss finding a way for Ramsamy not to testify before the commission.

The call takes place one of the days Johnson was giving evidence before the commission.

During the conversation, Johnson also attempts to establish how IDAC obtained the names of the accused in the Mokwele matter. Ramsamy tells Johnson that she received the names directly from her on 5 December 2024.
