कॉन्शियसनेस कहाँ होती है?

सामान्य मैटेरियलिस्ट सोच कहती है:
फिजिकल ब्रेन → कॉन्शियसनेस पैदा करता है।

लेकिन आज कल AI के मॉडल को देखते हुए ये कहा जा सकता है कि फिजिकल सिस्टम स्वयं सिर्फ प्रोसेसेस कर रहा होता है। एक्सपीरियंस और सेल्फ उस सिमुलेशन/मॉडल के अंदर उत्पन्न होते हैं जो सिस्टम अपने बारे में बना रहा है।

मतलब:
ब्रेन = फिजिकल मशीनरी
सेल्फ = उस मशीनरी द्वारा बनाया गया मॉडल/वर्चुअल पर्सन

और हम अपनी सब्जेक्टिव पहचान उस वर्चुअल पर्सन के साथ करते हैं।

In English, politics, polite and police all emerge from the Greek idea of the polis—the city. The Latin equivalent, civitas, gives us words such as civic, civility and, ultimately, our modern understanding of civilisation. In Sanskrit too, nagar and nagrikta are closely associated.

A city is not a collection of concrete buildings, expressways, highways, malls, or posh residential societies alone. A city is ultimately made by its people.

What sociologists call the idea of Gesellschaft.

You will be surprised to know that, essentially, the nayak, the character for whom the Kamasutra is written, is a person dwelling in a city. The vibrancy, the diversity and the anonymity that exist in a city are part and parcel of urban life.

On all these metrics, Mumbai is, in my view, the only real city in India.

Now, urban Bengaluru and new Hyderabad are competing, and other Indian cities are also growing rapidly. But the kind of freedom that Mumbai gives you is different. It is the only truly global city out of India.

Other cities are still marred by feudalism, caste battles and inherited social structures. But, like a modern city, Mumbai is governed largely by money. It has its own drawbacks, but it is perhaps the only large megapolis in India where a woman can travel with relative safety at 2 or 3 a.m. at night. People do not honk unnecessarily on the roads, and even the working class is very professional in that sense.

Beyond the filthy rich, Bollywood and finance bros, this is what makes Mumbai, Mumbai.

That is also why it has been the target of Pakistani terrorism, from 1993 to 2008. Mumbai is not merely another city. It is a city of enormous economic and symbolic importance. It drives Maharashtra, and Maharashtra, in many ways, drives the country as a whole.

We should strive to create more Mumbais out of metropolitan cities in India.

पाकिस्तान के प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय (PMO) की ओर से सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफॉर्म X पर शेयर की गई एक ग्रुप फोटो को लेकर विवाद खड़ा हो गया है।

दरअसल, SCO समिट के दौरान ली गई ग्रुप फोटो को एडिट करके प्रधानमंत्री मोदी की तस्वीर हटा दी गई है।

मूल तस्वीर में PM मोदी और पाकिस्तान के प्रधानमंत्री शहबाज शरीफ दोनों दिखाई दे रहे हैं।

वहीं, एडिटेड तस्वीर में PM मोदी, ईरानी राष्ट्रपति मसूद पजशकियान समेत 5 नेताओं को हटा दिया गया है।

विवाद के 4 घंटे बाद पाकिस्तानी PM शहबाज ने X पर SCO की फोटो शेयर की है। इसमें PM मोदी भी नजर आ रहे हैं।

Unacademy is getting acquired by upGrad today. It has been one helluva journey since that stroll in LBSNAA when I was on the phone with @gauravmunjal and decided to quit IAS and build Unacademy.

At one point during peak Covid, there were more than 100,000 live classes happening on Unacademy every month, with almost 1M paid subscribers. I remember once I was taking a flight and a CISF officer looked at me curiously and recognised me. He thanked me because he could study online and prepare for his govt. exam while still on the job, and because going to an offline coaching centre was not an option for him. Unacademy has made countless such success stories possible.

When we started posting videos on YouTube, very few smart people were teaching online. Being an educator was still looked down upon. I remember that within the first month itself I must have called 200 people to teach online. This led to a revolution bigger than we had imagined. Suddenly we were doing millions of views, which eventually became billions. There are only very few top educators in India today who haven't at some point taught on Unacademy. The impact that Unacademy has created for the ecosystem is immense.

The journey wasn't easy. It never is. I remember once being up all night making videos just because our views were down and I didn't want a month where we were not growing. Another time, Gaurav and I flew to China to meet an investor who didn't even show up for the meeting. Whether it's the sleepless nights, or the rejections, or the constant firefighting during good times and bad, it is a journey to remember.

Very few people get the opportunity to create the kind of impact that we created. And I am proud of the impact we have created through Unacademy.

And now, as a part of upGrad, we are looking forward to creating an even bigger dent in the universe with @RonnieScrewvala.

Thanks to my friends and family for always being there for me. Without you it would not have been possible. Especially to my wife @SprihaChoubey and to my co-founder and friend Gaurav, whose LBSNAA phone call helped us create the entire online education category in India.
