Ready, set, science - our annual summer exhibit The Exploration Lab returns on June 3rd! Learn about the shapes, sights, and sounds all around us with this interactive exhibit that has activities for scientists of all ages, but especially kids!
Field season in New Mexico has begun! Curator Dr. Andrew McDonald and WSC staff and volunteers are back in the Menifee Formation digging up dinosaurs, turtles, and other amazing fossils from over 80 million years ago. We can’t wait to see what they find!

While learning about fossils, mammals, and oceans, to discovering the many stepping stones to careers in science, technology, engineering, and math, these Wonder Girls are proof that superheroes come in all shapes and sizes: https://t.co/SVa1SK2YwH
We celebrated all of our volunteers at yesterday’s Volunteer Appreciation, but we had to give special recognition to our longtime volunteer John De Leon for 17 years of volunteer service (John has been volunteering since the museum first opened in 2006!). Thank you John!
We had a busy weekend full of #science! 🦣 Max’s Mobile Museum stopped by @cityofstem in Los Angeles, while we hosted another Science Saturday at the museum! We even had a booth at a local @valleywiderec event. Thank you to the almost 2k people who stopped by one of our events!
The Western Science Center will be CLOSED to the public on 4/9 in observance of Easter Sunday. We will resume our normal business hours on Tuesday, 4/11 at 10AM!
We’re in LA for the Future Green Leaders Summit, showing off our 3D printed fossils to the next generation of scientists! 🌿 Paleontology, archaeology, and museum science are all important parts of a green future!

I spent the day at a children’s event with the @WesternCenter Mobile Museum #M3. At one point a vehicle backfired loudly, & the entire crowd of several hundred tensed up and turned in unison to look for the shooter. We need to fix our #guncontrol problems!
LOL I dont think my coworkers were as excited as I was about the crickets from Oaxaca that my husband brought home from his coworker. #crickets#traditionalfood#oaxaca#spicy#yummy https://t.co/xtPpMPpWDs
