@JaronRMJohnson @Wizards_DnD My view of the different D&D editions is just presenting alternative playstyles.

1st edition: Classic
AD&D: Classic+
3rd/3.5: D&D Crunchy Flavor
4th: D&D the Board Game!
5th: D&D the Accessible Edition

I honestly don't feel any is "better". Its all based on what flavor you like

[Paleo Praetor @Paleo_Praetor]

@JaronRMJohnson @Wizards_DnD There is a perception that a new edition of a game should always be "better" than its predecessor, and that games with new editions march towards some idyllic perfection.

Personally, all I expect of new editions is that they are different and/or innovative. New ways to play.

DM advice:

Try not to throw a pot of boiling water on your players at the table.

Never invite a vampire in to play D&D. They always borrow dice and never bring beer.

If one of the players has a cyborg eye, don't point it out. They already know. #DnD #DMAdvice

[Paleo Praetor @Paleo_Praetor]

@JacobSKellogg I think game tone and group dynamics play a huge part in this as well. For example, some games encourage an element of PvP interaction (in some capacity or another). I feel in those instances the DM has a bit more onus to serve as a referee of sorts, vs. a more narrative game.

[Paleo Praetor @Paleo_Praetor]

@JacobSKellogg @mrvalorisalive I think a lot of "rules lawyering" is born from disappointment cause by expectations not being met. "I thought I could do <thing X> according to the rules, and now I can't, so I'm unhappy." I think clarity of rules goes a long way to satisfy these issue.

@TheOnyxPath @VtM_Bloodlines @CyberpunkGame @RTalsorianGames This is amazing!!!
