French National Order of Merit awarded to the President of the PRCS
The Consul General of France in Jerusalem, HE Mr Nicolas Kassianides, has had the honour to award the French National Order of Merit to the president of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, Mr Yunis al Khatib, during a celebration held at the headquarter of the PRCS. Through this prestigious award, the French Republic acknowledges the tireless work undertaken by Mr Al Khatib as the head of the PRCS since 2000, to bring emergency medical relief everywhere in Palestine, for everyone. It is also a tribute paid to the outstanding work of the PRCS and its staff as a whole, that have managed to pursue their tasks in extremely difficult circumstances, too often at the risk of their own lives, in particular in Gaza. France will continue its efforts to support PRCS and stand with the vulnerable Palestinians, as part of its humanitarian action.

Closing the crossings is not a temporary measure… and preventing many humanitarian supplies and essential materials from entering Gaza is a suffocation of an entire way of life.
Today, Gaza is still besieged in every sense of the word: patients without treatment, families without shelter, children without a future, and families waiting for relief at a closed gate.
All border crossings must be opened, and a rapid, sustained and unimpeded flow of aid instated – including items which have been restricted so far, but are essential to lifesaving humanitarian services.
Enough blockade. Enough suffering.

Our medics were not missing… they were buried.
Buried beneath a silence heavier than words, and beneath pain beyond endurance.
The survivor, Asaad Al-Nassasra, speaks—his voice bearing witness to loss;
to companions who left with him on a humanitarian mission, but he returned alone… leaving them under the soil without a farewell.
And on March 30, 2025, the truth emerged as it is:
bodies concealed, souls departed, and a wound that will never close.
They were deliberately killed by Israeli occupation forces.
This is not a story of survival…
but a testimony to a tragedy that will remain.
PRCS participated in the Mediterranean Leadership Meeting in Sicily Dr. Younis Al-Khatib discussed humanitarian challenges amidst regional conflicts, while Dana Abu-Koash engaged in youth leadership training to empower the next generation.

Sadly, a total of 58 PRCS staff and volunteers have been killed in this war. For more than three years, the international community has failed to take tangible steps or constructive measures toward accountability.
Mostafa Khufaga, Saleh Muamer, Ezzedine Shaath, Mohammad Bahloul, Mohammad Al Heila, Ashraf Abu Labda, Read Al Sharif and Rifat Radwan were deliberately killed by Israeli occupation while on duty in their clearly marked ambulances with flashing emergency lights on.
