Pre-Christian Celtic and Germanic Intellect Was Nonexistent

The druids were priests, not philosophers. They performed rituals, not arguments. They memorized oral traditions, not written texts. They observed the stars but left no astronomical treatises. They built mounds but left no mathematical theorems. They were craftsmen, not thinkers.

The Coligny calendar is a practical device for tracking time, not a philosophical system. Stonehenge is an architectural achievement, not a scientific theory. Celtic art is beautiful, but it is not intellectual.

The Germanic peoples were even less advanced. They had no cities, no architecture beyond wooden halls, no writing before the runes which were derived from the Latin alphabet. Their gods were forces of nature, not philosophical principles. Their myths were battle epics, not theological treatises. They had no concept of transcendence, no theory of being, no ethics beyond honor and revenge.

Christianity Gave You Everything

Christianity came. And Christianity gave you everything.

The Catholic Church preserved Greek philosophy when the Eastern Roman Empire fell. The Church founded the first universities in Europe. The Church taught Celts and Germanics the philosophy of Aristotle, the mathematics of Euclid, the astronomy of Ptolemy.

St. Illtud founded the first school in Britain around 500 AD, the 'school of Illtud'. He taught Celts Latin, Greek, and Christian theology. His students founded monasteries across Wales and Ireland. He was a Christian. He brought you philosophy.

Albertus Magnus, a German, introduced Aristotle to Western Europe. He was a Christian. He brought you philosophy.

The University of Bologna was founded by Christian clergy in 1088. The University of Oxford was founded by Christian clergy. The University of Paris was founded by Christian clergy. Your first universities were Christian institutions. You received everything from them.

Without Christianity, you would have no universities. No written philosophy. No mathematics beyond the abacus. No systematic theology. No astronomy beyond the calendar. No metaphysics. No ethics. No logic. No science.

Christianity gave you the ability to think. Christianity gave you the language to reason. Christianity gave you the concepts to understand the world. And you repay this with hatred.

Eriugena—The Celtic Traitor to Celtic Paganism

You claim John Scotus Eriugena as the greatest, first, and most intelligent Celtic philosopher. Yet he was educated by a Greek monk in Dublin, not by druids. He left his Gaelic parents to serve the Carolingian court. His grandmother left paganism before him. Eriugena spoke Greek more fluently than Gaelic he translated Greek texts into Latin. He despised druidic culture as superstition. He rejected his pagan heritage.

Eriugena was Irish in the way Steve Jobs was Syrian, ethnically one thing, culturally something else entirely. He was a Christian who believed Christian theology was superior to druidism. He wrote his greatest works in Latin, not Gaelic. He would not have understood a modern 'Celtic pagan' and would have condemned it. He was Christian first, Greek second, and Irish only by blood.

German Christians were more Anti-semitic than the Third Reich Government. They saw the act of baptism for jews as a form of race mixing, and when the state would not outlaw it, they begin to use their freedom of religion to deny baptism to jews.

Led by protestant Theologian Walter Grundmann, who co-created the German Christian Movement, they also cut off funds to foreign missionary projects, denied church services to non-Germans, and fired non-German employees.

"If Jewishness had to be removed from Christianity, the presence of baptized Jews in the church was also problematic. Missionary activity directed to Jews was challenged by some church leaders, who saw in it a threat of miscegenatin.
