WATCH: @chrislhayes honors Shaban Al Dalu, a Palestinian teen who burned to death after an Israeli strike.
"That young man should have celebrated his 20th birthday today. Instead, the world became a witness to his violent death in a video depicting the endless horrors in Gaza—horrors that whether we like it or not, our government and our weapons are facilitating day after day until something changes."
Bar Council of India has recommended Rs 20000 as minimum stipend for junior lawyers in urban areas and Rs 15000 in rural areas. Under the Delhi Minimum Wages Notification a matriculate but non graduate has a statutory minimum wage of Rs 20357 and a graduate Rs 22146!

@lucifer_damned hi Anubhav, you have drawn attention to 2 very imp. questions about the role of lawyers in shaping social justice and the dispro. space occupied by elite lawyers. I would like to have a deeper conversation on this esp in today's context. I did not assist on this case though.

Horrible news. A glaring indictment of all of us privileged lawyers and educationists. We have failed to create support systems for first generation students facing severe barriers due to systems designed only for urban elite- this continues in practice
This piece also fails to acknowledge the role of caste and intergenerational privilege of upper caste Indian immigrants - you don't "come with nothing" - intergenerational university education and cultural capital carry you through.
The piece very explicitly uses the economic successes of Indian Americans to claim that the racial grievances are bogus and minorities can succeed only with hard work and determination. There is no better example of model minority trope than this Varadarajan’s piece.1/3
(7/n) To young queer folks discovering themselves like we were 16 yrs ago: embrace it if you can—you’ll find joy & maybe even your Kotia! And to the skeptics, consider this our review petition to society. How much longer till we can be husbands & fathers?
Happy sweet 16, Kotia!
1/ 2 Dear @TOIBengaluru its unfortunate to see you write that street vendors are 'plaguing church street'. In your own picture you can see cars crowding the street. Is church street only for the rich? Only big coffee shops, pubs &cars are valid occupants of church street is it?
In today's hearing in the Supreme Court in the caste practice in prisons petition, @WadekarDisha made a few compelling points.
Here is a short clip from today's court hearing

What's happening in Amazon warehouses in India is close to resembling bonded labour---not allowing water or bathroom breaks, insane targets--show how exploitative the system is. This undoing of a century of rights won by the labour movement shows how easily the backslide begins.
A very important milestone for legal scholarship and international human rights law by the incredible @RabeaEghbariah who was censored twice before this article could see light of day. He is the first Palestinian scholar to be published by a prestigious American law review.
While giving speeches, organizing, participating in protests, receiving and digesting the news that came to him about the war, @RabeaEghbariah wrote this. The first article by a Palestinian in one of the most important US legal journals: https://t.co/f5aNH9JFAo
Amazon India Warehouse workers battling intense heat. Workers forced to work in intense heat without bathroom or water breaks to meet targets.
Amazon Indian Workers Association (AIWA) writes to Ministry of Labour to seek immediate action. No response yet.
#Faizabad comprising #Ayodhya is a general constituency. The Samajwadi party fielded Awadesh Prasad a #Dalit and he has won the seat against a Thakur (BJP) and a Brahmin (BSP)
This is great news .

Street vendors from Church Street were evicted to make way for this privileged form of street vending! One street vendor approached the High Court which granted orders permitting him to do his street vending without interference from the BBMP or the police.
