Under the decisive leadership of Hon’ CM Dr. @himantabiswa Sir, @assampolice remains relentless against crime, backed by stronger supervision, sharper investigation & technology-driven policing across the State.

The results up to June 2026:

-Crime rate per lakh population: 112.1, down from 121.5 in 2025 & 379 in 2021
-Cases pending investigation: 10,486, down from 11,140 in 2025 & 1,33,982 in 2021
-Monthly average case registration: 3,430.3, down from 3,682.9 in 2025 & 11,103.3 in 2021
-Chargesheet rate: 86.58%, up from 81.46% in 2025 & 39.40% in 2021

The numbers reflect sustained progress. We move forward with renewed focus and an unwavering resolve to make Assam safer.

The 3rd Keynote Address - on "Strengthening Child-Centred Justice within the Framework of the POCSO Act" was held today as a part of the #AssamPoliceSishuMitra initiative.

Delivered by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Kalyan Rai Surana of the Gauhati High Court, the address, highlighted the critical roles & responsibilities of all stakeholders in ensuring a child-sensitive & coordinated response to victim children.

@DGPAssam, Sri @HardiSpeaks, emphasised that empathy, collaboration & open communication among all are essential for ensuring justice processes are reassuring, dignified, & child-centric.

The programme was attended by stakeholders from the Judiciary, Government Departments & Police.

Assam has become one of the first States in India to roll out e-Zero FIR for cyber financial crimes.

Reports made on NCRP or 1930 will now move faster into FIR and action, especially in cases above ₹10 lakh.
