Respected representative of people, Hon’ble MLA Sjt @AkhilGogoiAG ji, I humbly request you to leave my Late father and fore fathers out of current discourse where you may disagree with my professional discharge of duty. All options, including legal options are open to your good self against my professional discharge of duty. However, I would humbly request you to leave my late father and fore fathers, who have position of God in my life, out of the public discourse and debate. I am deeply hurt and anguished.

In an excellent operation lasting weeks, the three crimes of grenade lobbing by a banned organisation in Tinsukia, Sivasagar and Jorhat have been cracked and perpetrators arrested and motorcycles used recovered. People instigating these perpetrators through online platforms have also been identified and would be brought to book whichever corner they are in. The evidence would be presented in appropriate court of law in due course. @assampolice remains steadfast in resolve to protect the people of the state from all violent crimes at all personal and professional cost. My compliments and gratitude to each officer and men associated in the operations. We resolve to keep the Assam Police flag flying high. @DGPAssamPolice@CMOfficeAssam

It is a strange coincidence that the day Assam Government and @assampolice starts taking revitalised action on APSC Scam, there is a minor blast by miscreants in Tinsukia district of Assam. This looks like an attempt to draw attention of senior leadership of police away from APSC Scam investigation. Such miscreants and organisations would always try to stifle efforts to improve Assam. We would identify and punish perpetrators of this, and all such attempts that are made to divert our attention from improve our state. We remain committed to reach the bottom of the scam and punish all who are involved in it.

Chapter VII Assam Police Act 2007.
We are in a different kind of a profession. All of us, Public and friends in media need to understand and appreciate it.
Reference promotion exam of ASI of @assampolice - there are some electronic media items of adverse nature -
1. The setting of question paper, conduct of exam and preparing merit list was done by SEBA for 951 posts with 9768 candidates appearing. Assam Police Hq had no role in any of these.
2. Selection was as follows -
1- Un Reserved category- 594
2- ST (P)- 72
3- ST (H)- 33
4- SC- 51
Total- 750
Cut off for General category has been kept at 67 (45%) with corresponding cut off for other categories. The merit list, answer sheets of all candidates (selected and non selected) are available with IGP T&AP. Any candidate who has appeared and is interested may see it.
3. We didn’t go below 45% to avoid promoting less than competent people. That’s a conscious decision.
4. Some people may recommend less than competent people for promotion but present leadership of Assam Police is not of that view point in the interest of people of the state.
5. Those who’ve not qualified may try next year for remaining and fresh vacancies.
6. Media friends are requested to carry out due diligence and take views of the spokesperson/CPRO before publishing such articles that may lead to disaffection amongst members of a uniformed service members of which are covered by The Police (Incitement To Disaffection) Act, 1922.
Jai Hind.
A 51% drop in crimes against women in Assam. Special cells for women, tech-based investigation, faster prosecution and multi-stakeholder involvement make policing effective.
Our police must increase vigilance to ensure that Assam doesn’t become a corridor for economic crimes such as:
✅ Smuggling subsidised fertilizer outside the country
✅Illegal import of alcohol & Burmese Supari
