We held a brief meeting with Engr. Abisoye Coker-Olusote, the Director General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), to discuss the implementation of providing digital identities to the 15 million households targeted under the conditional cash transfer program of the Social Safety Nets.

This collaboration aims to enhance the efficiency and transparency of the program, ensuring that all beneficiaries have easy access to their entitlements. By leveraging digital identities, we can streamline the process, reduce fraud, and ensure that the support reaches those who need it most.

I joined His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and other world leaders at the opening of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) and the Zayed Sustainability Prize Awards Ceremony where a Nigerian SME, Nafarm Foods, won the Zayed Sustainability Prize in the Food Category for their work developing scalable hybrid solar food dryers that preserve food and reduce CO2 emissions.

Another Nigerian entrant, D-Olivette Global Enterprise, was a finalist in the Energy category and was recognised for their work on an IoT and AI-assisted innovative waste management solution that improves collection efficiency by 40%.

Today, I had a productive meeting with @epellejake, the founder of TAFAfrica, where we discussed vital steps to improve inclusivity for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria. Our conversation centered on ensuring that all government websites are accessible and providing assistive technology to those in need. We also explored the digitalization of the Social Register to enhance accurate data collection, particularly in rural areas, ensuring that vulnerable populations receive the support they deserve.

Jake's passion and commitment to creating a more inclusive society were truly inspiring. His stories of individuals overcoming adversity highlighted the urgent need for collective action. Together, we are committed to building a Nigeria where everyone, regardless of their abilities, has equal opportunities to thrive and succeed.
