Good question. I've heard that theory, and I keep it in mind whenever I write about parasites. In my book, Parasites & the Terrain, I acknowledge that many of us may carry these critters around, and they don't always travel alone. Bacteria and Candida can be in the mix too.

Think of Candida. It lives in plenty of healthy people and is a friend in the right numbers. When it overgrows, cutting it back can help, but we don't want to annihilate it. Go all out and you create selective pressure that favors the toughest survivors. Same with parasites.

Not every parasite is harmless, though. Some can make people very sick and hang on for years, along with other bugs. So whether it's Candida or parasites, I start with the terrain. Change the conditions that invited them in, or they tend to return.
