@WestJet I was told that I can’t get a refund for my $14,000 vacation package that they cancelled. Was told I can get points but WSJ cancelling flights to Maritimes in April?!!I want my money back!
@merflan2@drdeepasoni It’s not about who works hard, it is about the business of health care and ensuring adequate staffing and resources to meet the needs of our communities. Our fee based model is antiquated.
During my final planning lecture on grief, one of my students likened grief stigma to mental health stigma. And he’s right. In theory we embrace individuals navigating these experiences as long as they refrain from disrupting unspoken public realm codes of conduct & our comfort.
Catching up on podcasts with @WaitingRoomRev!Great listen with @suerobinsyvr talking about being able to tell your story & speak. Love this quote Sue gave, first page of her first book. How can we create safe space for patients, families caregivers & staff to share their stories?
Scotland passes Anne’s Law #LTC to ensure #residents are not kept apart from their #families ever again. “Residents in care homes have to be living, not just existing." Agree @SardelisMary Time for #Canada to legislate this. @JustinTrudeau @KamalKheraLib
@CBCToronto Since when is advocacy a form of “harassment” Advocacy is a form of love and deep concern - it mitigates risk and gives voice to those who are vulnerable. A family member is a resource, not a liability. Poor leadership. #advocacyislove
Story becoming all too familiar- reprisal toward family for asking questions and leadership construing advocacy as a form of “harassment” #advocacyislove https://t.co/djxOr8JIWw
Since when did advocacy become a form of harassment? When poor leadership sees families as a threat rather than a resource #advocacyislove https://t.co/3fb2itVL2R
On #ElderbearyDay I made this nice poster to let all my friends know that I believe elders in #LTC are worthy of Rights Protection in Legislation. What do you think @BruceFitchMLA@premierbhiggs @DavidCCoon @RogerMelanson
@innodim @suerobinsyvr There are no difficult patients or families - our communication skills and compassion for those in distress trumps any form of anger or reprisal toward families. Reframing the behaviours of patients requires empathy and ethical comportment #advocacyislove
