@CityofEdmonton there's no sidewalks here. The food bank is on this road. The day we went and said prayers for my brother, I noticed many ppl walking on the road going to access assistance. Why are there no sidewalks? This is dangerous, especially for mothers pushing strollers.

Indigenous protesters smeared red urucum seed paste on the faces of business leaders who are pushing for the construction of a railway in the Amazon that will destroy the environment for numerous communities.

At a public consultation event, these business leaders had come to endorse the Ferrogrão railway, which will cause environmental damage affecting fourteen Indigenous communities in the Amazon. Representatives from each of those communities came to voice their opposition.

Brazil’s Ministry of Transport will make the final decision. However, it comes just as there’s growing concern about climate disaster following the deadly floods in Rio Grande do Sul, a region bordering Uruguay, where over 100 people have died and well over 100,000 have been displaced.

The Michel Band, my band, had an historic meeting today to help further our negotiations with the feds to get band status under the Indian Act. The Michel were corruptly enfranchised in 1958, our lands stolen and sold off and many lost Indian Treaty and rights. Get to know a little bit about us. We are still here!! #landback

Fuck cancer.....it reared its ugly head in my grandson again. This time it's in his little bones. Not even a full year of remission and the day he was supposed to start grade 2, he started blood transfusions. This is so surreal. I can't believe this is happening again 😭
