The school year has just begun, but exciting things are already happening in our classrooms! Last week, @PamerMelissa's 5th-grade class at @BCSDHRidge held a "book scoot," which had students exploring 28 different titles, discovering new genres, and finding books they're excited to read for their 25-book challenge. It's not just about meeting a reading goal—it's about sparking genuine curiosity and helping kids discover what they truly enjoy. This is another example of how our teachers create engaging experiences that transform reading from an assignment into a passion! #BrunswickPRIDE #JourneryOfABlueDevil
Lately, there has been a lot of buzz about the topic of fluency instruction. Grounded in decades of research by Rasinski and others, fluency instruction is proving to be a very effective tool for teachers. It is motivational for students and teachers alike. The latest poetry issue of the Missouri Reader gives teachers an extensive set of resources and ideas. It’s FREE. Please have a look. https://t.co/DTX7lMi4Nk
