@EDiamond136 Was having a conversation the other day about the good old days of papers and magazines....I started doing Saturday and Sunday morning newspapers for the late Harry Clyde in Portrush back in 1997.... good times had and like any shop had it's local characters. πππ
@LoveBallymena@paula_mcintyre Saw you on yesterday morning, doing us proud as always.... great to see local talent recognition from the broadcasters ππππ
@lirseafood What can I say, outstanding achievement...... U can feel the pressure of that kitchen, the competition is not just about producing good food, it's doing that in the competition environment...that ticking clock... You did yourself proud... THAT is why people watch...passion π
@flickhwilliams@ITV Have you seen any of the pieces about stores closing in San Francisco because of theft and violence against staff leaving vast areas of the city unserviced.... Retail crime out of control....the regular honest shopper now paying through the nose for everything as a result
@EDiamond136@BBCgmu@TaggartJoel@bbcradioulster You are the perfect ambassador for the independent retail sector ππππ Enjoy the day and look forward to the programme.... Peter
@EDiamond136@BBCgmu@TaggartJoel@bbcradioulster The plus....gems like urself....the people and the characters of this wonderful wee part of the world... My own job is changing.....gone are the big money days.... Little more than minimum wage now... I just love the meeting folk and the craic around the country!!!!
@EDiamond136@BBCgmu@TaggartJoel@bbcradioulster That's fantastic news, I know I don't have to say....the sad loss of the independent family run grocer/CTN/convenience stores to the multiples and symbol groups has destroyed the retail fabric of N.Ire... a country left with jobs paying wages people cannot live on...
@EDiamond136 This could be an interesting week... essentially if the gritter guys strike and the weather turns worse again..... nobody is going anywhere...
@StephenNolan Lucky man to still have your mum, I lost mine at the end of October, she was 89....1st Christmas without her.....tough times, like u I was very close to her.... cherish every visit and every day.... Happy and healthy Christmas and new year to you both πππ
@StephenNolan@BBCNolan Drink/drug drivers, no insurance, bad tyres, phones..... All need cracked down on... I think financial penalties are one of the most effective deterrents...and a revenue raiser.... As little admin and waste as possible.... straight forward fine... No argument.
@EDiamond136 Sadly the long and the short of it is......they are not interested, it's all about their holiday pay for the last 10 years..... or some other distraction. They want us to work to 75....then what? Lead an active retirement enjoying the few pounds they will begrudgingly give us...
@EDiamond136 Does he have a TV licence ? That seems to get more interest from the justice system..... I hate to be the doom and gloom man but we are in for rough time over the next few years.....crime will get out of control and unfortunately it will be the softer targets suffering βΉοΈ
@BBCMarkSimpson If I remember correctly wasn't there an issue with the grounds being contaminated with Japanese Knotweed after the floods, expensive and very different to get rid of.....
@EDiamond136 Sorry Eugene... This is my rant... Hate to see the loss of all these local shops, I was a victim of their arrival in my town....only a small store but moved the shopping area out of the town...now left with 12 coffee shops and a few local shops where we had a good choice before.
@EDiamond136 Every town is the same, destroyed by the multiples.... We buy what they want to sell us, throw in a few token suppliers to make it look like they are trying. I have worked for them during their better days before they got to the market here, were good employers back then.
