Question for MPs opposing CAB 3:
If the bill passes, will you walk away in 2028 when voters expected your term to end, or will you stay until 2030 and enjoy the extension?
Can you oppose the bill and still benefit from it? @gladyshlatywayo@chigumbu_@hwendec@cmatewu@JMafume
On CAB 3
I am a representative of the people of Kadoma. I was elected to represent them, not to surrender their sovereignty.
In our community conversations, - at after church meetings, during interactions at funerals and weddings, in engagements with parents at school functions, In the streets, and even at our local gym - the message from the citizens is clear:
“Mwanangu, panyaya yeBumbiro, tambai nezvimwe; chitupa hachiwachigwi!”
For these reasons and many other, and in fidelity to the people of Kadoma and the Constitution of Zimbabwe, I CANNOT support this Bill.
Saka nhasi kutogwa naro chaizvo…
🔸In case you’re confused, this is why they’re doing #CAB3. Ivo varikukika mari nebhutsu iwe uchishaya mari yekunorapiswa asthma zvayo.

Today, the 13th of April 2026, the Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) formally submitted its Statement of Inputs to Parliament on the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment Bill No. 3 (2026). The ZCC, representing 32 member denominations with a reach of at least 3 million citizens, opposes the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment Bill No. 3 (2026) because of the potential harm it causes to the nation and the legacy of our current President. The ZCC, acting as a Watchman (Ezekiel 3:17) a role that compels the Church to speak when it sees the nation walking toward harm and after prayerful reflection and stakeholder consultation: Our general recommendations are as follows
1.Withdraw or substantially revise the Bill: The amendments in their current form are constitutionally, morally, and democratically compromised.
2.Establish an Independent Constitution Amendment Commission: Amendments of this nature require a dedicated, independent commission mandated to undertake broad, meaningful consultations rooted in the will of the people, free from the conflict of interest that arises when the institutions advancing the Bill are its direct beneficiaries.
3.If the Bill proceeds in its current form, a national referendum is mandatory: The Bill fundamentally alters the 2013 Constitution and provides for term extensions benefiting current incumbents. This requires direct citizen consent - not parliamentary approval by those who benefit from it.

I attended today's Politburo sitting as usual, as a man of conscience, not as a creature of convenience.Let me speak plainly, as soldiers do.
Constitutional Amendment Bill Number 3 this instrument dressed in the language of national necessity I rejected it. I sat in that chamber, I heard the arguments, and when the moment demanded that I stand on the side of the people and the Constitution, I did not flinch.
This Bill, in its present form and intent, is not a democratic exercise. It is a constitutional manipulation designed to serve the ambitions of a few at the expense of the many. I took an oath to defend this nation not a political faction, not a personal agenda, not a timeline invented to extend the tenure of any single man, however powerful.
What I find most troubling is not the Bill itself. It is the silence of those who know better and say nothing. That silence, comrades, is a form of betrayal. Now, to those who insist this amendment is the will of the people I issue a straightforward challenge: prove it. Go to the people. Call a referendum. Let the citizens of Zimbabwe the farmer in Uzumba, the vendor in Mbare, the teacher in Gwanda, the elder in Lupane let them speak. Not delegates. Not district coordinators with envelopes. The people. If Constitutional Amendment Bill Number 3 truly carries the democratic mandate its proponents claim, they should have no fear of a referendum. The only people who fear the people's voice are those who already know what the people will say.I am a retired soldier. I have no seat to protect, no ministry to lose, no patronage to guard. What I have is my name, my record, and my conscience. And on those foundations, I say this without hesitation No to Bill Number 3. Yes to a referendum. Let the people decide.
Zimbabwe belongs to Zimbabweans not to a committee, not to a faction, and not to a calendar.

You are the Police!
You are the army!
You are the violent one!
BUT you're not the people!
You're not Zimbabwe!
We will resist your violence, our resolve says #Noto2030. Beating up Prof. Madhuku & others will not help you. The people have the POWER & will RESIST!

Zimbabwe ranks "Medium" on World Population Review's 2026 WW3 list (source: their Global Firepower-based Total War Index). Its score of 2.386 reflects moderate military positioning amid regional instability, past political/economic crises, and potential spillover from nearby African conflicts or resource disputes. Not high like active war zones, but above stable low-risk nations. Purely speculative analysis, not a forecast.
They removed Mugabe in a coup and amended their constitution to include term limit. To prevent another leader staying beyond the limit.
His immediate successor has essentially removed those limits to stay longer. 😂😂

❌❌These are misleading statements made by ZANU PF’s Director of Information and Publicity. Claiming that Zimbabwe has experienced rapid growth during the current leadership’s two terms is not only inaccurate but also dismisses the realities faced by the people of Zimbabwe.
The truth is, the country’s infrastructure continues to deteriorate, exposing the government’s failure to meet the basic needs of its citizens. We have seen, especially during recent holidays, how many Zimbabweans struggled to travel due to poor roads and inadequate transport systems.
A genuine democrat and constitutionalist adheres to the principles enshrined in our constitution, respecting human rights, the rule of law, and good governance. It’s crucial to recognize that governance is not about the wishes of a political elite, but about serving the interests of all Zimbabweans.
What he said in this video is contrary to the Constitution of Zimbabwe, and it is illegal!
