You know its crazy to think how many episodes of ATLA revolved around bending being an expression of martial art mastery and/or philosophy, not just generic superpowers, but ever since LOK the creators have effectively given this plot point up. Insane sauce loss.

@PinkG0dzilla Yea amongst other issues the new movie had the idea that the Denied were even able to use the Airbending they were given more than flailing about was stupid. Multiple arcs in ATLA made it clear that bending was about martial forms, not just magic air (literally ep. 1 Katara lol)

@PinkG0dzilla In fact it would've been a hilarious moment for the Denied to be given bending only to realize they STILL are helpless against actual benders because bending mastery is about training and discipline, not raw power, something they clearly didn't demonstrate appreciation for.

Overall, it's a 4/10. I liked Aang's turmoil regarding him attempting to preserve the legacy of his people, AND how the ending wraps it up, but everything in-between could've been cut from the film and it wouldnt have changed Aang's arc.

Sat down last night and got to watch Avatar Aang. Gotta say overall, it wasnt as bad as i was braced for, but i doubt I'll watch it again. It has some nice parts but generally it has alot going against it. I guess a small thread.

The spirit world nonsense of TOK, which is itself also a con because the creepy, ethereal spirit world of ATLA clears TOK by a mile. TOK heavily sanitized the Spirits to make way for their Jesus / Satan kite arc, and Tagah's arc clearly embraces that, to the movie's detriment.
